Traditionelles Hindumahl / Traditional Hindu dish

Nach vielen Querelen hab ich es ja doch irgendwie nach Singapur geschafft...ich weiss nicht, ob es daran liegt, dass die Stadt, wie auch Hong Kong, relativ stark westlich gepraegt und weit entwickelt ist, aber Singapur hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Und dank der Hilfe der drei Maedels musste ich das auch nicht alleine tun und habe auch einen Einblick in die weniger touristisch erschlossen Gegenden bekommen. Vielen Dank an meine drei einheimischen ”Tourguides” Kendra, Letitia und Suraiya. Leider hab ich aber auch einiges an Zeit in Singapur verloren durch meinen Laptop, aber das Problem konnte behoben werden und er funktioniert jetzt wieder (wenn auch mit englischer Keyboardkonfiguration...) Wie immer hat es mich natuerlich recht schnell in Richtung CBD gezogen, denn auch Singapur hat eine recht ansprechende Skyline und das Flair der Restaurants direkt am Boat Quay ist wieder mal genial, vor allem bei Nacht. Im Rahmen des Nationalfeiertages gab es auch ein Feuerwerk in Singapur, sogar gleich zwei Mal. Das erste habe ich nur in grosser Entfernung gesehen, da es gerade an dem Freitag Abend war, an dem ich angekommen bin, das andere hingegen konnte ich live am Pier verfolgen. Habe diesmal aber nicht sehr viele Fotos davon gemacht, weil ich es einfach nur geniessen wollte. Wie in anderen asiatischen Staedten auch, ist das Essen natuerlich auch in Singapur wieder genial und ne gute Shisha in der Arab Street zu rauchen hat defintiv auch was...;) Einen Abend habe ich nur mit Singapuris (ich hoffe das ist die richtige Bezeichnung) verbracht, war ziemlich witzig, auch wenn der Akzent doch fuer nen Europaeer (sieht schrecklich aus das Wort, wenn man keine Umlaute hat...;) ) ziemlich schwer verstaendlich ist. Ein weiteres Highlight war, als mich Suraiya durch Little India gefuehrt hat, wir einfach nur einen Hindutempel besuchen wollten und die Glaeubigen dort gerade ihr Abendessen eingenommen haben. Vor allem konnten wir nicht damit rechnen, dass wir dann auch dazu eingeladen wurden, so dass ich mein Abendessen (Curryreis, Bohnen und irgendein suesses oranges Zeugs als Nachtisch auf einem Pappteller mit den Haenden in einem Hindutempel gegessen habe, inklusive einem Becher Kaffee, der scheinbar auch dazu gehoert. War eine sehr nette Geste und so hatte ich gleich ein wenig Indien auf meiner Reise, obwohl meine Route gar nicht da lang fuehrt. Leider war das Wetter nicht gerade toll, zwar sehr heiss aber viel sinflutartiger Regen, so dass Sentosa und damit mein Strandaufenthalt ins Wasser gefallen ist. Aber auch in Singapur war ich sicherlich nicht das letzte Mal in meinem Leben...

After a lot of trouble on my way to Singapore I finally made it...I have no idea if I like the city, same as Hong Kong, because it is more western and well developed, but I really liked it very much. And because of the help of the three girls I needn't discover it on my own and I had the chance to get a view into some less crowded sights of Singapore. A really big thanks to my three native “tour guides” Kendra, Letitia and Suraiya. But I also lost a lot of time in Singapore because of the trouble with my laptop. They could solve the problem and now everything works fine (but with an english keyboard configuration). Like everytime nearly the first part of the city I visited has been the CBD, because also Singapore has a very nice Skyline and the atmosphere directly at the Boat Quay is incredible, especiallly by night. There were also two fireworks because of the national holiday in Singapore. The first one at the evening I arrived and the second one on the day after. This one I saw at the pier. I didn't make a lot of pictures because I really wanted to enjoy the moment. As in nearly all asian cities, except Tokyo, also in Singapore the food is amazing and a nice Shisha in the Arab Street is definitely fine...;) One of the evenings I only spent with Singapuris (I hope that is the right description), this was quiet funny, although sometimes the accent is hard to understand for a european. Another highlight was the evening with Suraiya in Little India. We only wanted to visit a hindu temple and the people there had their dinner at this moment. And we were really surprised as we were also invited to take part at the dinner and so I had my dinner (curry rice, beans and a sweat orange dish as dessert) and ate it with my fingers on the floor of the temple with a coffee. This was a really nice experience and in this way I also had a part of India on my trip and it's not even part of my itinerary. Only the weather was really bad, a lot of strong rain and so I couldn't do my beach trip to Sentosa. But I definitely haven't been the last time in Singapore...
